Birmingham city centre HS2 works bus diversions – 26 May to 10 June 2020

HS2 works will be taking place in Birmingham city centre from Tuesday 26th May through to Wednesday 10th June. The works will be taking place at the junction of Priory Queensway and Moor Street Queensway.

The work will take place in two phases, and as a result, some buses will be diverted from normal route during these periods and will be calling at different stopping locations.

The following details are from the NX West Midlands website:

Phase 1 – Tuesday 26th May 2020 until Friday 29th May 2020 inclusive

Service 14 will divert and not serve Priory Queensway. 

Passengers should use stop MS10 on Moor Street Queensway instead.

Service 16 will divert towards Hamstead, not serving Priory Queensway. 

Passengers should use the normal stops on Moor Street Queensway or Old Square as an alternative.

Services 55 & 94 will divert and not serve Priory Queensway.

Passengers should use stop MS9 on Moor Street Queensway instead.

Services 82 & 87 will divert towards Bearwood & Dudley, not serving Priory Queensway.

Passengers should use the normal stops on Moor Street Queensway or Old Square as an alternative. 

Services X12 & X70 will divert and not serve Priory Queensway.

Passengers should use stop MS10 on Moor Street Queensway instead.

In addition;

Services 61, 63, X20, X21 & X22 will divert in Birmingham City Centre not serving stop MS9 on Moor Street Queensway towards Birmingham, however they will continue to serve their usual stops on Priory Queensway. Stop MS16 will continue to be served as normal for services leaving Birmingham.

Service 66 will divert in Birmingham City Centre, using Moor Street Queensway, Carrs Lane, Lower Bull Street and Corporation Street to access Priory Queensway. Buses will continue to use the normal stop on Priory Queensway and will use the normal route towards Sutton Coldfield. 

Phase 2 – Sunday 31st May 2020 until Wednesday 10th June 2020 inclusive

Services 65 & 67 will divert in both directions between Lancaster Circus and Priory Queensway. 

Towards Birmingham buses will not serve Newton Street, using James Watt Queensway to get to Priory Queensway directly. Once on Priory Queensway buses will use stop BS11 on the opposite side of the road to normal. Leaving Birmingham buses will use Corporation Street, serving stops CS1 for Birmingham Law Courts and CS2 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, before rejoining the normal route at Lancaster Circus. 

Service 66 will also use stop BS11 on Priory Queensway, which is on the opposite side of the road to normal. When leaving Birmingham, buses will divert using Corporation Street, Lancaster Circus and James Watt Queensway before rejoining the normal route at Jennens Road. 

In addition;

Services 14, 55 & 94 will divert when leaving Birmingham, using Corporation Street, Lancaster Circus and James Watt Queensway before rejoining the normal route at Jennens Road. These services will continue to use their normal stops on Priory Queensway. 

National Express West Midlands apologise for any inconvenience these diversions and stop alterations may cause.
