Opinion: TfWM Community forum removes those who dare to criticise

Editor’s Note: Richard is a former TfWM Bus Passenger Champion and former advisor to the West Midlands Mayor Andy Street

The TfWM COMMUNITY FORUM is an interesting concept. It is designed to be a forum for bus, train & Metro users in the West Midlands. However you can only contribute if you are invited to join. The whole forum has been contracted out to Mustard Market Research in Manchester.  Note, this is not a local organisation in the West Midlands.

The forum is designed by Mustard to only include views that compliment or praise TfWM.  The forum simply exists for praise and compliments. Mustard who run it simply want forum members to praise TFWM and will not engage in any constructive dialogue.

If as I did you make any form of constructive criticism of the bus network you use as I do you are removed.  What is even more concerning this whole facade is financed by a Levy to West Midlands Council Tax Payers.

What we really need is an independent forum where everyone can make honest comments and actually hold TfWM to account hopefully we will get one of these soon instead of the charade that currently masquerades as TFWM Community Forum.

My recent letter published in the Birmingham Mail newspaper

We’d love to hear from anyone else who has been or is still involved with this TfWM Community Forum. Did you even know of such a thing? Is the time right for WMBU to relaunch its own Community? Let us know your thoughts by commenting below!
