With Christmas just over three weeks away now, bus operators are confirming the levels of service they will be operating over the festive period.
Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd December 2021
Normal levels of service, though National Express West Midlands (NXWM) will be running adjusted timetables with slightly reduced frequencies before 9am. National Express Coventry (NXC) will operate to Saturday levels of service.
Friday 24th December 2021 (Christmas Eve)
NXWM will run special timetables with last journeys departing from town & city centres between 11pm-11.30pm.
NXC will run a Saturday service with some minor timetable changes.
Diamond Bus will operate a Saturday Service, with some services finishing earlier than normal, Coventry 89 will operate normal M-F service.
Saturday 25th December 2021 (Christmas Day)
No bus services will operate, enjoy the day!
Sunday 26th December 2021 (Boxing Day)
NXWM will run a Sunday service with some routes finishing between 6pm-8pm.
Routes 35 (Walsall to Aldridge), 77A (Walsall to Sutton Coldfield), 46 (Q.E. Hospital to Northfield), 54 (Perry Barr to Hamstead), 54 (West Bromwich to Quinton), 62 (Wolverhampton to Compton) and 71 (Sutton Coldfield to Chelmsley Wood) will not run.
NXC will run special services approximately between 7am-6pm.
Routes 1, 2, 12X, 13A, 18A, 19, 20B/20C, 21A, 24, 25, 85/85B & X30 will not run.
Diamond Bus will operate a limited Sunday service.
Monday 27th & Tuesday 28th December 2021
Buses will run to Sunday timetables. Diamond Bus’ 89 service (Coventry) will run to normal weekday timetable on Tuesday 28th.
Wednesday 29th to Friday 31st December 2021 (New Year’s Eve)
NXWM will run to special timetables with most first buses departing at normal Monday to Friday times. Extra buses up to 9am will be added in where necessary.
NXC will run a Saturday service with some minor timetable changes.
Diamond Bus will run a Saturday service, though the X16 will not run. Their Coventry 89 service operates normal weekday timetable on Weds 29th and Thurs 30th
Saturday 1st (New Year’s Day) to Monday 3rd January 2022
NXWM and Diamond buses will run a Sunday service.
NXC will run special services approximately between 7am-6pm on New Years Day, and to Sunday levels of service on 2nd and 3rd January.
Tuesday 4th January 2022
Normal service levels will resume.
