As well as a number of timetable changes due to come into effect, there will be some other service changes taking place on this date.
Claribels
Following the completion of the acquisition of bus service operations from Claribel Coaches by Diamond Buses, the following changes to Claribels bus services will be taking place:
36 – Heartlands Hospital to Sparkhill
This service is withdrawn, and mostly replaced by an extension of the 41 service, which will be operated by NX West Midlands, running from QE Hospital to Heartlands Hospital, via Moseley, Springfield, Acocks Green & Hay Mills.
75 – Birmingham International to Sutton Coldfield
Service withdrawn, replaced in part by new 76 and 76A services operated by Diamond Bus between Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield.
94 – Birmingham to Chelmsley Wood
This service will be withdrawn from Saturday 9th April by Claribels, Diamond will begin operation with a new improved timetable from Monday 25th April.
167 / 168 – Erdington to Sutton Coldfield
These services are withdrawn, and replaced by extensions of NX Bus services 77 and 77A
600 – Erdington to Brookvale Park
This service will continue to be operated by Diamond Bus, no change to route or timetable.
604 – Kingstanding to Hill Hook
This service will be curtailed to operate between Sutton Coldfield and Hill Hook only, and will be run by NX West Midlands. The Kingstanding to Sutton Coldfield section will be covered by revised 77A route.
S16 – Solihull to Yardley (Swan Island)
This service will continue to be operated by NX West Midlands, no change to route or timetable.
Diamond Bus
17 – Merry Hill to Halesowen
Following loss of TfWM contract, this service will become operated by NX West Midlands and renumbered as 17H.
34 – Birmingham to Kings Heath
Service withdrawn following end of TfWM contract which is not being retendered.
UPDATED: Diamond will continue to operate this service following decision by TfWM to renew contract.
63 – Wolverhampton to Bradmore
64 – Wolverhampton to Penn
65 – Wolverhampton to Fordhouses
Following loss of TfWM contract, these services will become operated by Lets Go (Travel Express)
76 – Tamworth to Sutton Coldfield
76A – Tamworth to Hurley
New services introduced to replace 6 and 6A services, and will partly replace withdrawn 75 service between Coleshill and Sutton Coldfield.
223 – Dudley to Bilston
Frequency reduced to hourly.
424 – Queslett (ASDA) to Perry Barr
Diamond will take over operation of this service from Thandi, following award of TfWM contract.
First Bus
144 – Worcester to Birmingham
Route is revised to operate between Worcester and Catshill only, no longer continuing to Birmingham city centre.
UPDATED: It appears this change is due to take place from Sunday 1st May, not Sunday 24th April as notified by TfWM.
Lets Go (Travel Express)
32 / 33 – Wolverhampton to Northwood Park
529 – Wolverhampton to Walsall
These services are withdrawn by this operator, with alternative journeys available on NX West Midlands services.
NX West Midlands
5 – Wolverhampton to Codsall
Daytime frequency reduced to every 30 minutes
20 – QE Hospital to Cofton Hackett
Monday to Saturday daytime frequency reduced to every 30 minutes.
27 – Maypole to Cofton Hackett
Monday to Saturday daytime frequency reduced to every 30 minutes. Minor route change for evening journeys terminating at Northfield. Buses towards Northfield will run along Great Stone Road, Bristol Road South and Church Road to serve more of the High Street. Evening buses from Northfield towards Maypole will continue to start from Church Road (Shopping Centre).
41 – QE Hospital to Heartlands Hospital
Service extended from Acocks Green to mostly replace the withdrawn 36 service between Acocks Green and Heartlands Hospital.
46 – QE Hospital to Northfield
Overall frequency between QE Hospital and Northfield reverts to every 30 minutes. The route will change in Hawkesley. Buses will run directly along Shannon Road, no longer serving Meadowsweet Avenue, Longdales Road or Edgewood Road.
997 – Birmingham to Walsall
Frequency of through journeys to Walsall reduced to every 30 minutes.
In addition to the above, a number of services will have minor timetable revisions, mostly to address reliability issues.
