Christmas time is almost upon us again, and no doubt many people will be using public transport during the holiday period to visit friends and family, go on nights out, or just continue to go to work!
Buses will be running to different schedules on certain days, so make sure you are aware and prepared!
Christmas Eve (Sunday 24th December 2023)
Most buses will run to normal Sunday levels of service, with some services finishing earlier from 22:00 onwards.
Arriva’s 110 (Tamworth to Birmingham) last journeys will be at 1735 from Tamworth, and 1835 from Birmingham.
Christmas Day (Monday 25th December 2023)
No bus services will operate, stay at home and enjoy the day!
Boxing Day (Tuesday 26th December 2023)
A near Sunday daytime service will be provided on Boxing Day with some more busy services also having some evening journeys.
Some of the quieter services will not operate at all and a special service will operate on the Coventry area bus services until around 6pm.
Service 8 (Walsall to Lichfield) will operate between Walsall and Brownhills only.
Services 12X (Coventry to Warwick University), 20 (Bromsgrove – QE Hospital), 25 (Bilston – i54), 35 (Walsall – Aldridge), 62 (Wolverhampton – Compton), 77 (Walsall – Sutton Coldfield), 110 (Tamworth – Birmingham) & 530 (Wolverhampton – Rocket Pool) will not run.
Service X1 (Coventry to Birmingham) will start later and finish earlier, as shown below:
First bus from Coventry – Birmingham will be 5.34am
First bus from Birmingham – Coventry will be 6.45am
Last bus from Coventry – Birmingham will be 10.30pm
Last bus from Coventry – Birmingham Airport will be 11pm
Last bus from Birmingham – Coventry will be 11.15pm
Chaserider and Stagecoach services will not operate, with the exception of the 41 (QE Hospital – Heartlands Hospital) which may operate a Saturday timetable, and the 46 (QE Hospital – Kings Heath) which may operate a Sunday timetable, both to be confirmed soon.
Wednesday 27th to Friday 29th December 2023
Most services will be operating to Saturday timetables.
Night journeys on service 74 (Birmingham to Dudley) will not run.
In addition, services 10A (Wolverhampton to Pattingham) & X15 (Birmingham to Sutton Coldfield) will also run during this time.
Saturday 30th December 2023
Normal Saturday service.
New Year’s Eve (Sunday 31st December 2023)
Normal Sunday service on most routes.
Arriva’s 110 (Tamworth to Birmingham) last journeys will be at 1735 from Tamworth, and 1835 from Birmingham.
New Year’s Day (Monday 1st January 2024)
Most bus services will operate to Sunday timetables.
Arriva’s 110 (Tamworth – Birmingham) will not operate.
Stagecoach services will not operate, with the exception of the 7C (Coventry – Brownshill Green), 46 (QE Hospital – Kings Heath), 60 (Arena Park – Warwick Uni) and A9 (Kingshurst – Blythe Valley) TfWM contracted services.
Tuesday 2nd to Friday 5th January 2024
Bus services will operate to modified school holiday timetables.
From Saturday 6th January 2024, services revert to usual schedules.
