Service Changes from Sunday 1st September 2024

Following the end of the school summer holidays, bus services will return to normal timetables as traffic levels and passenger numbers increase.

There will also be some other route changes taking place.

9A – Shire Oak School to Walsall

Along with a timetable change, this service will also have a route change to operate directly along Pelsall Lane between Rushall and Pelsall and will no longer serve Shelfield or High Heath.

13 / 13A – Coventry to Willenhall

New timetable is introduced on the 13 service, with most journeys extending from Willenhall to SEGRO Park Coventry, a new industrial estate at Baginton, and early morning journeys added to the timetable, to provide new employment links.

No change of route for AM/PM peak 13A variant, however journey times will change.

71 – Sutton Coldfield to Chelmsley Wood
X14 – Birmingham to Sutton Coldfield

Along with timetable changes, these services will have the following route change into Sutton Coldfield.: Buses will use Rectory Road, Coleshill Street, Mill Street, Victoria Road, Lower Queen Street, South Parade, and terminate at Lower Parade. Heading from Sutton, buses will follow the current route.  

110 – Birmingham to Tamworth

The 0740 journey from Tamworth to Birmingham and the 1440 journey from Birmingham to Tamworth on Mondays to Fridays will be diverted through Roughley to provide a service for pupils attending Fairfax School and The Royal Sutton School/John Willmott School at Reddicap Heath.

From Tamworth, the bus will run along Slade Road, Roughley Farm (due at 0807), Weeford Road and Whitehouse Common Road to Reddicap Heath, then onward to Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham. From Birmingham, the bus will run the reverse of the morning journey, picking up pupils at Reddicap Heath at 1520. These journeys will no longer serve Bassetts Pole.

169 – Kings Heath to Solihull

From Saturday 31st August, the route is revised in Billesley. Westridge Road will no longer be served, and buses will use Yardley Wood Road and Trittiford Road instead.

242 – Stourbridge to Kinver

Following award of Staffordshire CC contract, this service will be operated by Diamond Bus with an improved timetable, with Monday to Friday daytime services increased to every 30 mins and more journeys serving the Hyperion Road loop throughout the day, there will also be additional AM and PM peak time journeys added.

703 – New Invention to St Thomas More School

Buses on the afternoon journey will be retimed to 15 mins later and will no longer loop Griffiths Drive in Ashmore Park. 

713 – Wolverhampton to Compton Park School

This service will have a timetable change and will now start and finish at Dudley Road, Grove Street stop.

877 / 878 – Wolverhampton to Stafford

The 877 will become a separate service serving the villages to and from Stafford.

The 878 will become the 876 and create more of a direct bus between Wolverhampton and Stafford via Coven, Brewood and Penkridge. These changes will also ensure reliability and improve the service, and avoid the Kiddemore Green road which is frequently shut. A Saturday service will also be introduced, it will create an every 30 minute frequency between Penkridge and Stafford working with the 875.

SFA1 / SFA2 – Wilnecote to St Francis of Assisi College

These services will no longer operate following end of contract.
