Kings Heath station works – amendments to 35 and 50 services

Due to roadworks taking place in Kings Heath to facilitate the construction of the new railway station, NX West Midlands are introducing temporary timetables for their 35 and 50 services from Sunday 30th March.

The new timetables will accommodate the increased journey times caused by temporary traffic lights installed at the junction of Alcester Road and Queensbridge Road, which are causing significant amounts of traffic congestion.

According to TfWM, timings are also being adjusted to better co-ordinate with Diamond’s journeys on the 50 service.

In addition to the above, there will be some bus stop changes in Birmingham city centre to alleviate issues caused by ‘bunching’, where delayed services arrive at the terminus together.

Services 17, 60, X1 & X2

These services will no longer drop off at Park Street, but will unload at the Markets stop.

35 – Birmingham to Hawkesley, via Moseley and Kings Heath

Service will terminate at and start from stop MS2 on Moor Street.

50 – Birmingham to Druids Heath / Maypole, via Moseley and Kings Heath

Journeys towards Birmingham will unload and terminate at the Park Street stop adjacent to Selfridges, journeys towards Maypole and Druids Heath will start from stop MS1 on Moor Street.
