From Sunday 1st June 2025, a large number of bus services will have timetable changes as ‘early Summer’ schedules are introduced, mainly due to fewer university students travelling, as well as schoolkids revising for exams, however there are some routes that will see more significant changes, including routes serving Wombourne, Kingstanding and the QE Hospital.
15 / 15A – Wolverhampton to Merry Hill, via Wombourne
16 – Wolverhampton to Stourbridge, via Wombourne
Service 15A is withdrawn. Service 15 is curtailed to operate half-hourly between Merry Hill and Wombourne only, with a slightly revised routing in Wombourne. Late evening and Sunday journeys will operate between Wall Heath and Merry Hill.
Service 16 Monday to Friday daytime frequency increases to every 20 minutes, with a slight route change in Wombourne.
New variant 16A service is introduced between Wolverhampton and Wombourne which will operate late evenings and Sundays.
20 – QE Hospital to Bromsgrove, via Northfield and Catshill
20A – QE Hospital to Cofton Hackett, via Northfield
X20 – Birmingham to Bromsgrove, via QE Hospital and Northfield
Services 20 and 20A will be withdrawn, service 20 will be replaced by new X20 service between Birmingham and Bromsgrove, via University, Selly Oak, Northfield, Rednal, Rubery, Catshill and Sidemoor.
Monday to Saturday daytime service operates every 30 minutes between Birmingham and Rednal, providing additional capacity alongside the X21 and X22 services between city centre and University station, with alternate journeys continuing to Bromsgrove hourly. Sunday journeys operate hourly through to Bromsgrove, an improvement on the current 2-hour frequency.
Cofton Hackett will no longer be served, passengers can use the 145/145A services to connect with other services at Longbridge and Rubery.
22 – Bearwood to Oldbury, via Bristnall and Langley Green
48 – West Bromwich to QE Hospital, via Bearwood and Harborne
48A – West Bromwich to Bearwood, via Warley
54 – West Bromwich to Worlds End
Service 48A will be withdrawn.
Service 48 daytime frequency increases to every 20 minutes. From University station, the route is extended to Northfield to replace that part of the curtailed 76 service, buses will go via Mindelsohn Way and Metchley Lane to join Quinton Road, the interchange at QE Hospital will no longer be served.
Service 54 is revised to operate via Bristnall Hall Road and George Road. Service 22 is revised between George Road and Norman Road to serve Hill Top Road and Salop Road, to partly replace the revised 54 and withdrawn 48A services.
49 – Solihull to Rubery Great Park, via Shirley and Kings Norton
Service is revised in Solihull to terminate at and start from Solihull town centre. Passengers can use stops on Blossomfield Road next to Tudor Grange Leisure Centre to access the railway station. Daytime frequency reduces to every 20 minutes.
76 – Solihull to Northfield, via QE Hospital
Service will be curtailed to operate between the QE Hospital and Solihull town centre only. The section between QE Hospital and Northfield will be mostly replaced by extended 48 service. Services 19 and 55 will continue to provide links to Harborne from the QE Hospital bus interchange, alternatively passengers can change onto the 11A/C Outer Circle at Selly Oak.
Solihull station interchange is no longer served, passengers should use stops on Blossomfield Road next to Tudor Grange Leisure Centre to access the railway station.
77 / 77A – Walsall to Erdington, via Sutton Coldfield
78 / 78A – Sutton Coldfield to Streetly/Kingstanding
77/77A route will be amended in Streetly via Wood Lane, Chester Road, Bridle Lane and Hundred Acre Road to replace part of the withdrawn 935 service. Blackwood Road and Ferndale Road will be served by amended 78 and 78A services. Daffodil Road and Fallowfield Road in Daisy Bank will also be served by the 77 and 77A services.
Service 78A will be curtailed to Queslett, and will no longer continue into Kingstanding, this is to improve reliability of the service.
934 / 935 – Birmingham to Walsall, via Kingstanding
These services are withdrawn, and replaced by revisions to services 77/77A, 936 and 937, and new service 998.
936 / 937 – Birmingham to Brownhills, via Kingstanding
Service 936 is revised and will operate all day, route is amended from Barr Beacon Crossroads to head towards Walsall, replacing the withdrawn 934 service, Aldridge and Brownhills will no longer be served by this service. Frampton Way in Pheasey is added to the route.
Service 937 is revised in Kingstanding to serve Rough Road and George Frederick Road, replacing that part of the withdrawn 935 service.
997 – Birmingham to Walsall, via Kingstanding and Aldridge
998 – Birmingham to Streetly, via Kingstanding
997E short journeys to Pheasey (Deers Leap) are renumbered as new 998 service which will continue to Streetly (Hardwick Arms), replacing part of the withdrawn 935 route.
Frampton Way in Pheasey is removed from the route and will be covered by the revised 936 service.
X2 – Birmingham to Solihull, via Yardley and Sheldon
Minor timetable revisions, last journey of the day from Solihull will terminate at South Yardley (Swan Island).
