Diamond Buses have announced today that a deal has been agreed which will see them acquire the current bus service operations of Claribel Coaches on 24th April 2022.
Diamond Bus Ltd, a subsidiary of Rotala Plc, has agreed to acquire the bus business and certain specific assets (principally the vehicles used) from Claribel Coaches Ltd. The transaction will be concluded on 24th April 2022, after which all Bus Operating Staff and 18 associated vehicles will transfer to Diamond Bus.
The current Directors of Claribel Coaches Limited have decided to focus on their ongoing coach business, Birmingham International Coaches, and we are grateful for the opportunity that this decision has presented to us.
Further information regarding the transition of services will be available in the coming weeks.

I understand that all of Claribels’ contracted services have been put up for tender, so it will depend on who wins that contract, but I think it is likely that Diamond will retain them.
I use Claribel S16 bus route regularly and its a great service. The regular Mon-Fri driver is friendly, welcoming and always chats to passengers who have all got to know him. Service will not be the same once Diamond takes over 😔
The staff and vehicles will all transfer to Diamond once the acquisition is complete, so with any luck the same driver may well still be driving this route.
That’s if Diamond win the tender presumably. As if it goes out to tender could be operated by Landflight or NX to.
Diamond Bus will bring its usually high quality professional operations to passengers on the S16 to benefit of the existing users of the Claribels who will benefit greatly from the quality and pride Rotala put into its companies.
Excellent news as a regular user of Claribels to Nechells Place this is Excellent news for all users of Claribels commercial & tendered services. Hopefully Rotala will be bring this operation up to the high quality standards we have all come to expect from Diamond Bus. The service standards I have encountered at times frankly leave a lot to be desired especially on its tendered services. Diamond Bus will be welcomed by myself & all current users. Hopefully TfWM will agree to transfer the tenders over to the benefit of all users of Claribels services.
Claribel S16 (Solihull to Yardley route) is reliable. Mon-Fri driver is very friendly, welcoming and always chats to passengers.
