BYD ADL Enviro400EV

UPDATED: Planned strike action has been postponed while drivers vote on a new pay offer. If this offer is rejected, the below changes will become effective from Monday 20th March instead. Read more here…

With strike action by Unite members due to begin from Thursday 16th March, NX West Midlands have today announced a very limited service level from that date, which mainly caters for people travelling to and from hospitals.

We are running a small number of buses that serve hospitals on their route. We anticipate that the services will be busy. You can find the timetables for these services on this web page. We are sorry for the significant disruption this will cause and we want to reassure you that we are doing all we can to minimise the impact on our customers.

Bus users generally have been using the bus less over the years not at all a surprise, so technically its a limited service anyway. I had to walk all the time to various trains and other bus stops much further away and got fed up so barely used my local stop or service in recent years. I always knew walking extra those stops gave me options. Bus users like options even if they have to switch bus and in an area like mine with now just one 30mins bus and nothing else but a long walk away there is no real incentive to use buses as people have no real alternative options. TfWM and NX fault for leaving lack of options in many areas. As someone who was a regular bus user I have used them even less than 10 years ago even before Covid and strikes. Just no real incentives. The less options you provide a area generally people use the bus less so no real surprise this has all happened and end up with more frustrated users who get angry and then use buses less. Even elderly by me barely uses the bus.
