Metro Track Work bus replacements – June 2017

From Sunday 11th June 2017 the Metro stops between Priestfield and Wolverhampton St.Georges will be closed for essential tram track replacement which will be carried out along the A41 Bilston Road in Wolverhampton. 

The full route should be back in service by Christmas 2017.

During the work, the tram service will operate in both directions between Birmingham Grand Central and Priestfield stops.

A replacement bus service will be in operation between the Crescent and Wolverhampton bus station. Priestfield Park and Ride car park will remain open for the duration of the work.

A 79 bus service will be available for onward travel to Wolverhampton from The Crescent stop – 
– Monday to Friday – up to every 5 minutes during peak and up to every 15 minutes in the evening
– Saturday – up to every 10 minutes during the peak and up to every 15 minutes in the evening
– Sunday – up to every 15 minutes

A revised Metro timetable will also be in place from Sunday 11th June.

The following service changes will also be taking place from the same date:

Service 1 – Dudley – Tettenhall

  • Route revised in Wolverhampton city centre due to highways works to extend the Metro to Wolverhampton Rail Station.
  • The 1 will now serve Wolverhampton Bus Station on journeys towards Dudley only and will use stand J.
  • Towards Tettenhall, the route will be revised to operate along Piper’s Row rather than along the ring road and Broad Street.
  • Revised timetable to reflect the above changes.

Service , 5A – Wolverhampton – Codsall

  • The stand used in Wolverhampton Bus Station will change to stand C.
  • The timetable will remain the same.

Service 6, 6A – Wolverhampton – Pendeford

  • The stand used in Wolverhampton Bus Station will change to stand D.
  • The timetable will remain the same.

Service 25 – Wolverhampton – Pendeford

  • The stand used in Wolverhampton Bus Station will change to stand A.
  • The timetable will remain the same.

Service 27 – Wolverhampton – Dudley

  • The stand used in Wolverhampton Bus Station will change to stand A.
  • The timetable will remain the same.

Service 54, 54A – Wolverhampton – Stafford/Hednesford

  • The stand used in Wolverhampton Bus Station will change to stand C.
  • The timetable will remain the same.

Service 81 – Wolverhampton – Merry Hill

  • The stand used in Wolverhampton Bus Station will change to stand B.
  • The timetable will remain the same.

Service 82 – Wolverhampton – Dudley

  • The stand used in Wolverhampton Bus Station will change to stand B.
  • The timetable will remain the same.
