Changes to 42 and 43 services from Sunday 19th August

From Sunday 19th August 2018, National Express and Diamond Bus will work together with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) to provide a new joint timetable on the 42 (West Bromwich to Dudley) & 43 (West Bromwich to Bilston) services, which will carry the new West Midlands Bus branding.

All National Express daysaver tickets and travelcards will be valid for use and can be sold on any 42, 43 or 43A bus, including those run by Diamond.

National Express will also be selling Diamond’s £2.80 Diamond value day ticket, to be used on routes 42, 43 & 43A, and other Diamond value services.

So simply catch the first bus that comes along!

Both Diamond and National Express will be operating jointly on these routes, with the newly branded “West Midlands Bus” livery on both operators vehicles. There will be buses up to every 7 minutes between West Bromwich and Tipton (St. Marks Rd) during Monday to Saturday daytimes, and Diamond will also be extending their services to 7 days a week and late evenings.

Diamond and National Express will now operate the same route to each destination, including extending some of their 42 services to Dudley. Services to Bilston will be numbered 43, operating via Dudley St & Black Country Route and 43A, operating via Loxdale St & Oxford St.

The new timetable will see a change in frequency at different times of the day for each operator, therefore you may find purchasing a different type of ticket offers better value so you can use any bus along the route.
