New timetables and Birmingham city centre stop changes from Sunday 5th July 2020

National Express West Midlands have announced that their bus services will be “back to normal” from Sunday 5th July.

From Sunday 5th July the vast majority of our bus services across Birmingham and the Black Country will be returning to pre-coronavirus frequencies making it easier to practice social distancing onboard.

In addition, we have a team of 50 buses and 70 drivers on “sweeper” duty every day, ready to react to any reports of buses or bus stops getting busy, giving more space on board each bus.

We have worked closely with Transport for West Midlands through the Bus Alliance to co-ordinate these latest improvements.

What are “sweepers” then? These are ‘spare’ vehicles, that will be positioned at key locations, ready to enter service and assist on any routes where they have become busy, to avoid passenger over-crowding.
