Diamond join £2 fare cap scheme which is extended to end of June

The Bus Fare Cap Grant scheme is a Government funded scheme introduced on most single bus journeys across England from 1st January 2023, and it was recently announced that the scheme has been extended until 30th June 2023.

Despite initially declining to participate, Diamond has today announced that “following a review” they have now joined the scheme.

From Saturday 1st April, we are reducing the price of our single tickets on Diamond Bus services to just £2 per journey as part of the Government’s Help for Households scheme.

Following a review, Diamond Bus will also now be joining the scheme… just in time for you to enjoy some great Spring and Summer journeys out!

The days are getting longer, the Easter holidays are here, Summer is on the horizon…

There are some great places to visit and a wealth of things to see and do across the Midlands and with our new £2 single fare price, it’s a great time to get out and explore the area by bus.

You can now make a single journey on the majority of Diamond services across our Full Midlands Region, and never pay more than £2* . Don’t worry if your single fare is usualy less than £2, it will stay the same price! You can buy our new £2 single ticket on board from your friendly driver using cash, contactless payment or Apple/Google Pay. It’s that simple!

If you are a regular traveller, intend to make a number of journeys during your day or are travelling in a family/group, you may find that our range of day, week & month tickets offer even greater value.
