Service changes from Sunday 16 April 2023

From Sunday 16th April, most services will revert to normal timetables following the Easter holiday period. There are a couple of changes taking place, and also some previously announced changes that won’t.

002 – Weoley Castle to Merry Hill

NO CHANGE – Diamond will continue to operate Sunday journeys on this route following the provision of funding from TfWM, the service will be reviewed again in October.

2 – Wrens Nest to Merry Hill
2A – Wrens Nest to Merry Hill
X10 – Birmingham to Gornal Wood

Service X10 is revised in Brierley Hill to miss out Wallows Road, which will be served by some journeys on the 2 renumbered as 2A.

4H – Walsall to Hayley Green

Sunday journeys operated by Diamond will be withdrawn, NX West Midlands will introduce an hourly service following the provision of funding by TfWM, the service will be reviewed again in October.

20 – QE Hospital to Bromsgrove
20A – QE Hospital to Cofton Hackett
144A – Longbridge to Bromsgrove

Service 144A is withdrawn and will be replaced by extended 20 service. Current 20 service is renumbered as 20A with no change to route.

New service 20 will operate as current route from QE Hospital to Rednal (Lickey Road), it will then serve Leach Green Lane/Edgewood Road to New Road in Rubery, from where it will follow the current 144A route via Catshill to Bromsgrove. Monday to Saturday frequency is hourly, with a 2-hourly Sunday service added to timetable.

Services 20 and 20A will provide an improved combined 30min frequency between QE Hospital and Longbridge. Longbridge station will no longer be served, however passengers travelling from Bromsgrove and Catshill will be able to change onto other services at Longbridge Island or Rubery.

25 – Erdington to Ward End circular
600 – Erdington to Brookvale Park circular

These services are withdrawn by Diamond following expiry of TfWM contract, new contract awarded to Solus Travel, no change to route or timetable.

45 – West Bromwich to Walsall

NO CHANGE – Diamond will continue to operate this route following the provision of funding from TfWM, the service will be reviewed again in October.

48C – Coventry to Nuneaton
148 – Coventry to Leicester

New service 148 replaces 48C and 48L (Nuneaton to Leicester) services, which Stagecoach will continue to operate.

55 – Nuneaton to Coventry
20 – Coventry to Nuneaton

Service 55 is withdrawn by Stagecoach, with alternative provision available on their 56 and 56B services.

Partly replaced between Bedworth and Nuneaton with revision to NXC’s 20 service which will provide a link to George Eliot Hospital

78 – Sutton Coldfield to Streetly
78A – Sutton Coldfield to Kingstanding
604 – Sutton Coldfield to Hill Hook

Diamond’s 78 and NXWM’s 604 services are withdrawn, and replaced by new 78 and 78A services to be operated by NXWM.

226 – Dudley to Merry Hill

Service is revised back to previous route omitting Wall Heath.

Some early morning journeys are withdrawn, Monday to Friday journeys will operate every 30 minutes. Saturday service frequency is reduced to hourly.

226A journeys are renumbered as 226, with minor changes to Sunday timetable.
