Remembrance Sunday diversions and road closures

Sunday November 10th 2019 is Remembrance Sunday. A number of parades will be taking place across the West Midlands, which will result in a number of roads being closed and bus services diverted.

The following information is courtesy of Network West Midlands:

Walsall

09.00 – 12.00

Due to the Remembrance Day parade, roads in Walsall Town Centre will be closed.
The affected roads are, St Pauls Street, Hatherton Street, Hatherton Road, Lichfield Street, Bridge Street, The Bridge, Bradford Street and Bradford Place.

All buses will enter and exit Walsall Bus Station via St Pauls Street.
Bradford Place Bus Interchange will be closed and all buses will use temporary stops in Midland Road.

Additionally, short notice delays between 10.45 – 11.05 may be expected in the following towns in the Walsall area

Aldridge – Parade via Middlemore Lane, Leighswood Road, Little Aston Road to The Centoaph on The Green.

Willenhall – Parade via Market Place, Stafford Street and Field Street to the Cenotaph

Short Heath – Parade via Church Road, Bloxwich Road North, Lane Head Bridge, A462 High Road to the Centoaph.

Darlaston – Parade from King Street to St Lawrence Church via Victoria Avenue, New Street, Waverley Road, Slater Street, Victoira Road.

Brownhills – Parade via B4155 Lichfield Road, Great Charles Street, Church Road, New Road, Victoria Road, B5011 Ogley Road, B4155 Lichfield Road.

Pelsall – Parade via B5154 Norton Road, Station Road, Chapel Street, High Street to Cenotaph

Bloxwich – Parade via Harrison Street to the Centotaph

Streetly – Parade via B4151 Foley Road East, B4151 Foley Road West, Grosvenor Avenue, Mayfield Road, Ferndale Road, Bridle Lane, Hundred Acre Road, Fordwater Road, Silverstone Drive to All Saints Church.

Walsall Wood – Closure between 13.30 – 15.30. Parade will take place on A461 Lichfield Road between the junction of Salters Road/Brownhills Road and Boatmans Lane

Dudley & Sandwell

10.30 – 12.00

Due to Rememberance Day commemerations, various roads in the Black Country will be subject to closures whilst Rememberance Day parades take place.

Rowley Regis
No service diversions but Halesowen Road, Garratts Lane, Moor Lane, Powke Lane Island will be closed whilst the parade takes place. Services affected NXWM 3, 18, 19 and X10.

Smethwick
High Street between Coopers Lane and Newlands Green will be closed
NXWM 80 diverted via Smethwick High Street, Tollhouse Way, Tollhouse Way Island, Soho Way, Windmill Lane, Shireland Road then normal line of route.

NXWM 80A diverted via Smethwick High Street, Tollhouse Way, Tollhoise Way Island, Crocketts Way, Brook Street then normal line of route.

NXWM 87 diverted via Smethwick High Street, Tollhouse Way, Tollhouse Way Island, Soho Way, Windmill Lane, Cape Hill then normal line of route.

West Bromwich
Reform Street will be closed.
NXWM 45 and 46 diverted via Cronehills Linkway, All Saints Way, then normal line of route.

Wednesbury
High Bullen between Hydes Road and Church Hill will be closed.

NXWM 11 diverted via Wood Green Road, Myvod Road, Park Lane, Manor House Road, Whitley Street, Trouse Lane then normal line of route.

NXWM 40 & 47 diverted via Hydes Road, Holden Road, Mounts Road, Bridge Stret, Holyhead Road, Wednesbury Bus Station.

Dudley 
Priory Road, Ednam Road, Tower Street, Wolverhampton Street, Vicar Street.
NXWM 1, 8, 14, 27, 27A, 81, 82 and X8 will be subject to short term delays during the parade and services may be diverted via local roads.

Tipton
Mayfair Gardens between Victoria Road and Coneygree Road will be closed.

NXWM 42 will be diverted via Segley Road East, Park Lane West then normal line of route.

The following places will only have short term road closures. No services diverted.

Colmore Row from Livery Street to Newhall Street will be closed for the annual Remembrance Day parade.

NXWM 7, X8, 9, X10, 12, 12A, 13A, 52, 82, 87, 89, 101 & 126 will be subject to route and City Centre stop changes.

NXWM X8, 9, X10, 12, 12A, 13A, 82, 87, 89 & 126 will terminate in Livery Street and diverted towards Birmingham via Great Charles Street, and Livery Street.
From Birmingham these services will be diverted via Livery Street, Colmore Row, Colmore Circus, Snow Hill Queensway, Great Charles Queensway then normal line of routes.

NXWM 7 and 52 services will terminate on Snow Hill Queensway. From Birmingham these services will be diverted via Snow Hill Queensway, Colmore Circus, Priory Queensway, Old Square, Priory Queensway, Snow Hill Queensway, then normal line of routes.

NXWM 101 will terminate in Livery Street, and exit the city via Livery Street, Colmore Road, Colmore Circus, Snow Hill Queensway, Great Charles Street, Livery Street, Cornwall Street, Newhall Street then normal line of route.
